Hon. Mayor Preciliano M. Ruiz delivered his first State of the Town Address (SOTA) last March 1, 2020, at the Municipal Gymnasium.

The SOTA covered the period of July-December 2019, the first 6 months of his administration. The SOTA was brief and concise, informing the San Antonians of Mayor Ruiz accomplishments. Infrastructure, solid waste management, business, health, peace and order, social welfare, agriculture, and tourism developments were cited.

The SOTA also stated the mayor’s future plans for San Antonio. He still focuses on tourism, for he believes that if the tourism industry continues to flourish, jobs and development follow.

As a neophyte in the government service, Mayor Ruiz doesn’t follow the usual pattern, and that is the traditional politician’s way. He emphasized that he’s going to do his best so that the government will be serving the people in its truest sense, and not the other way around!
