Motorcade in celebration of the Rabies Awareness Month
In the celebration of Rabies Awareness Month with the theme “Barangay Kaagapay Laban sa Rabies Tagumpay”, on March 12, 2018 more than 100 people of San Antonio, Zambales joined the motorcade around the town. It was participated by the Local Government Unit, San Antonio PNP, San Antonio BFP, MDRRMO, BHW’s and Barangay Officials. The activity was spearheaded by the Municipal Agriculture Office and the Municipal Rabies Prevention and Control Consultative Committee (MRPCCC) in relation to RA 9482 otherwise known as the “Anti-Rabies Act of 2007”.
The objective of this motorcade was to increase the level of awareness in the community which is a highly fatal viral disease killing almost 300 Filipinos yearly and the most vulnerable are the children ages 14 and below. The awareness campaign continues through massive anti-rabies vaccination in every barangay and as well as information education campaign in various public and private sectors.
